Ride Reigate 2019

The start and finish is at Reigate College, Rushworth Road, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 0QF.

100k and 50k riders will start leaving in groups of 20 from 8am onwards at 3-minute intervals. We would like all 100k and 50k riders to have left Reigate College by 9.15am.

25k riders will start leaving the college at 9:15am and we would like all 25k riders to have left by 9:45am.

You can ride with whoever you like. Please be patient, listen to any instructions you are given and take extra care when leaving – please remember these are live roads.

Ride Reigate Signs

The route will be clearly marked throughout. The 50k and 100k direction signs are A5 / A4 sized and are an orange arrow with a black background (see above, left). Our 25k arrows are A5 / A4 with a yellow arrow on a black background (above, right).

For the first 100 metres on Rushworth Road and then on Flanchford Road all three routes will be going the same way so the 25km route arrows will be positioned alongside the 50k / 100k arrows.

The 50k and 100k routes follow the same arrows. The route splits just after the first feed station at Turners Hill Primary School. There will be signage up warning riders that the route is splitting ahead.

Signage will be put up at all turns in the following sequence – warning arrow, turn arrow, confirmation arrow. There will be confirmation arrows on the long stretches.

There will also be signs to indicate that cyclists are approaching a feed station.

Although the route is fully signed throughout, you can find the 100k, 50k and 25k maps and turn-by-turn route sheets using the buttons below.

Feed Stations & Mechanical Support

Riders should carry their own energy/feed bars, gels and powders etc. for drink bottles.

Each of our feed stations will provide mechanical support from local cycle shop partners – C & N Cycles, Finch Cycles and Maison Du Velo, as well as light refreshments, a medical station and toilets.

C & N Cycles will be providing mechanical support at the Start/Finish at Reigate College (RH2 0SD), as well as on the 25k route.

Finch Cycles will be providing mechanical support at the Start/Finish and at the first rest station at Turners Hill Primary School (RH10 4PA).

Maison Du Velo will be providing mechanical support for the 100k ride and will be located at the second rest station at Wivelsfield Primary School (RH17 7QN).

Road surfaces are generally pretty good. Just the same please take care, especially on the rural sections, because there will be potholes. Shout warnings and – where safe to do so – make visual signals for the benefit of fellow riders. If you have to take evasive action unexpectedly, please try not to ride into another rider’s path. Remember there will be people behind you when you least expect it, so stay alert and always look behind.

This is largely a rural route with some narrow stretches where oncoming traffic might have to be contended with and you may also meet walkers and horses, so be prepared to stop or give way. There are several junctions where you will have to give way to oncoming traffic as directed by the road signs and you should be prepared to stop. Please give a warning to those behind you and slow down gradually so others are not taken by surprise. Be prepared to give way to other road users if it’s the right thing to do at the time, according to the Highway Code and common sense.

Obey the rules of the road AT ALL TIMES. Don’t jump red lights, don’t ride more than two abreast – and single file where necessary.

The Finish

The ride ends back at Reigate College, where you will be rewarded with your well earned medal and Pilgrim Brewery drinks voucher.

There will be bbq food provided by the college (CASH ONLY) and drinks available.

The route will close at 3:30pm and the event village will begin to shutdown at 4pm. In case of any problems getting back to the college, please make sure you contact Event Control on 07710 998999.

Travel & Parking

Now is a good time to start planning your travel arrangements.

There will be plenty of car parking available on a first come first serve basis at Reigate College (RH2 0QF), Kimberly Clark (RH2 9QP) and Willis Towers Watson (RH2 9PQ). There will be a suggested donation of £3 for the car parks – all proceeds will go directly to St Catherine’s Hospice. Each of the car parks will be clearly signed posted.

You can also reach Reigate College by train. Reigate station is just 0.4 miles away. The first train of the day is at 6:30am from London Bridge, changing at Redhill station and arriving in Reigate at 7:23am.

Please check for maintenance works or timetable amendments before you travel!
